75% First-Pass Success in M1 Occlusions: Key Takeaways from the Perfuze-SNIS Webinar

 

On May 4, 2026, Perfuze and SNIS co-hosted an expert webinar featuring Dr. David Fiorella, Dr. Sunil

Sheth, and Dr. Tarun Bhalla and one number drove the conversation: 75%. That's the rate of M1

occlusion cases achieving TICI 2c-3 reperfusion on the first pass with the Millipede88® Catheter in the

MARRS Study1.

 

The Design Difference

 

Traditional aspiration catheters can kink and ovalize in tortuous anatomy — reducing lumen size when

aspiration matters most. The Millipede catheter’s corrugated structure and ePTFE liner is designed to

allow the catheter to bend without compromising lumen integrity2, maintaining consistent aspiration

power through even the most challenging anatomy.

The Bottom Line

 

First-pass success is becoming the standard by which stroke programs are measured — clinically and

operationally. Fewer passes mean fewer devices, and potentially better patient outcomes6. The
